365 days of 2017 - Week 1
This is my third 365 project. The first year I did this I could barely keep up with the daily shooting. My project was so unorganized. I was just happy to have completed it. The second year I found my groove for shooting and editing and was diligent about organizing my project. This year I want to keep growing and evolving. This year I want to do more than scratch the surface. So it is my attempt to blog weekly to tell the stories and feelings that go with each photo.
001/365: A new year. A new 365 project. Our night of going to bed early turned into a fun night of games, party hats, confetti, and silly string with family, It was a great way to start the new year!
002/365: This year I want to make sure I capture not just the beauty of your childhood but those that love you and share this life of ours. Even the simple moments of playing Angry Birds on grandma's iPad.
003/365: Over our break from school we barely left the house, if it wasn't for running out of milk I don't think we would have left at all. The very last day we got a call from our cousin asking if we'd like to go bowling. It was the perfect end to a wonderful break.
004/365: Back to school. Back to homework. You are usually a trooper about sitting down and going through it. We give you space to go through it on your own. We'll help with questions or check it over when you are done. But I couldn't resist you counting out your math on your fingers.
005/365: You followed me downstairs as I dug through unpacked boxes searching for my tripod. You found your airplane before I found what I was looking for. You found the basement if the perfect place to fly a plane. You squealed with excitement when you saw in the back of my camera it really looked like your airplane was flying.
006/365: Wild and restless you were pushing each other's buttons and tearing apart the house. I told you to get your headlamps and we'd find an adventure. You each and got them and returned for your "quest". You first quest was to swim through the wild river hallway, climb the couch mountains, sneak your way through the dangerous kitchen jungle and make it to the cave where John Cena and Spiderman needed rescued. Your eyes grew wide and you added in your own details of the creatures you would encounter. Then you ran off and completed your first quest in record time. So your next quest was to find the book of magic, you wouldn't know which book was the right book until you looked through it.
007/365: My youngest. You've wanted to go to school like your older brothers since you were 2. This year you went to half day preschool. The first day you were so excited you barely remembered to hug me goodbye. You still love school but now every day you tell me, I really missed you today mom. Then you remember you have something in your backpack for me and move at the speed of light to retrieve them. You are bursting at the seams with excitement to show me the photos you've drawn for me when you get to grandma's house after school. Every day I pull out quite the stack of drawings from your backpack. Grandma must go through a ream of paper a week. More than half of those photos you've drawn are of you and me and lots of hearts. I will never tire of these stick figures and hearts. Though I've usually just seen one the day before my heart bursts all over again each and every day because of your thoughtfulness and endless love. 006
