WEEK 6 OF MY 365 PROJECT
/365: Strip off Robin costume to go pee. Look right and realize that if you unroll most of the toilet paper you instantly have a racetrack for your cars. This is being four.
/365: Don't climb in the window. I said it a hundred times. And then I thought why not. You crawl up there to watch the sun, to peek at the birds, to pretend and imagine. So climb and perch and enjoy my boy.
/365: You are obsessed with Robin. At some point in time every superhero has been your favorite. But you always come back to Robin. He's not just a sidekick, to you he is everything.
/365: When the golden hour turns to blue. It's a beautiful calm.
/365: Glow stick bath nights. Such a simple joy. I stock up on them, I have a whole drawer filled with them. Every now and again during bath time I pull a few out and turn off the lights. Truly I enjoy them as much as you two do.
/365: It’s not often I ask for the shot. But sometimes I know that is the only way I’ll get all three of you in one frame. I know that in time the age difference will not matter. But right now it shows. You are charging into your teenage years. Friends, school, and sports take up your time. You are trying to carve your way in this world. Your brothers are still carefree and wild. They live in superhero costumes and play from dusk till dawn. Sometimes you will play hide and go seek with them or help them build in Minecraft. I know it’s not easy, 7 years difference feels like a lifetime apart. But I promise you that gap gets smaller and smaller with each passing year. The three of you will find a common ground outside of rough housing and wrestling that bonds you together now. I see the bond even if you can’t always see it clearly.
/365: My poor boy. I hoped that all of this yuckiness going around would pass us by this time but it found us, starting with you. You were such a trooper.
