When people talk about their memories they pull out photos that go along with that memory. When people talk about the one thing they grab if their house was on fire - their photos. When people look at their family history they pull out photos that used to be their mother’s & father’s, their grandparents.

Your photos matter.

How do you choose a photographer to capture those important memories for you?

4 Tips to Find the Right Photographer For You…

  1. Let’s talk about it right away because I know it’s on your mind. Budget. Whether you are a six figure household or living paycheck to paycheck, everyone has a budget. We make choices every day and every month on what is important in that budget. I say budget rather than cost for a reason. If something is important to us we tend to find a way to make it happen, even if it means saving up. To me and for my family, photography is important. Having beautiful, tangible memories to hold, look through, and pass down is something I invest in, something I save up for. Almost every photographer has payment plan options. If there is a photographer whose work you admire and you really want their vision to capture your memories but you can’t afford their session or products all at once, ask about a payment plan.

  2. I mentioned vision. When choosing a photographer vision is one of the most important things to consider. A fancy camera does not make a photographer any more than the oven makes a chef. Yes it’s great to have the latest and greatest gear and tech in any field but it’s the person and how they apply those tools to their vision that separates them. It’s important to look through photographer’s work to see how they capture their subjects and how that compares to how you want your family, engagement, newborn, etc captured. Do you want straight-forward poses and props, a photojournalist documentary approach, or maybe a lifestyle approach that captures connection and emotion. Each photographer is going to have a different style and you’ll be able to see it in their photos. Check their website for a gallery, portfolio, or blog. Follow and check out their work on social media like Facebook and Instagram.

  3. See what others are saying. Reviews are a great way to see what their session, communication, and products are like. Most business will jump at the chance to have their clients say a few words about them, businesses want people to share their experience. Check their website, Facebook, Google, or even Yelp to see what others are saying.

  4. Have a chat! Talking with someone on the phone is a great way to not only gather the information about their packages or what to expect at the session if you book, but it’s also a great way to get a feel for their personality. Asking for a phone call to talk about their sessions or ask questions doesn’t mean you have to commit to booking them, and it doesn’t mean you are going to get put on a call blast list. Set up a phone call and get a feel for how you click!

Curious about me and my answers to the above?

I absolutely offer payment plans! I even offer custom payment plans so a session can work in any budget. I genuinely believe photography is important. How your memories are captured really matters. I want everyone to have the chance to have their life seen and captured as beautiful art.

I love sharing my vision. I pour my heart and soul into my sessions. Everything I do during my sessions is done to create a space where you forget about your nerves and just enjoy the people you are with and the moment you are in. I believe your photo session should be a fun experience. Most of the time kids are holding my hands at the end of the session asking me to stay and play more and husbands/fiances are laughing at how fun and easy that was. Check out my gallery. I take a lifestyle & unposed approach to my sessions. It’s not that I won’t pose or direct you, but instead of the typical poses and forced smiles I focus on love, connection, and emotion. I know how to give the images I create with you a life that you and generations after you will feel each time you look at your photos.

Want to hear what my clients have to say?! I love my clients and have the best time with them! I am always so grateful my clients take them time to share their experience and thoughts about our sessions. My heart is always so happy to hear that what I strive for (a fun, relaxed experience with genuine connection) is what they all say they had. You can find my reviews on Facebook, Google, and Yelp.

Want to learn more? I love to chat! Let’s set up a call to learn a little more about each other and talk about what a session with me would be like! Reach out here and let me know what kind of session you’d like!
