Creating Lasting Memories: The “F” Family in Wausau, Wisconsin for Family Photos
As a Wisconsin family photographer, I am constantly privileged to witness and document the beautiful journey of families through the lens of my camera. One such family holds a special place in my heart - the “F” family. Over the years, I have had the honor of capturing their most intimate and precious moments, from their engagement session to their wedding day, maternity, and now, their family portraits.
Before the session we had a try on session for mom with dresses from my client closet. She narrowed down her favorite, and I pulled a few extra I thought would be great as well. Planning what to wear can be hard but it’s such a big part of what I do for my clients, I make it easy and fun! I always start with what mom will wear for family photos, she gets to be pampered and taken care, then we will coordinate everyone to her. In the end we went with a beautiful off the shoulder emerald green for her to wear for family photos. From there I built ideas for what the family could wear to help her see the different directions we could take the vibe.
For their family photo session, we ventured to a picturesque location in the heart of Wisconsin. One of my favorite hidden gems in Wausau. it was the perfect backdrop to compliment the outfits we coordinated and let their connection shine! The “F” family truly radiated with love and joy as they interacted with each other, creating timeless moments that would be cherished for generations to come.
Clients are always worried about how kids will do at sessions, or tell me they don’t know what to do in front of the camera. And I always tell them, “don’t worry, I got you!”. We laugh and play. I gently navigate the session so we get honest and truly natural photos of the family loving and laughing together, but also beautiful portraits that feel like everyone’s personality. Yet the kids are sure we just got together to play!
