Duluth, Meet Your Newest Photographer: Kelly Jacobi Photography
Duluth… hi!
I’m Kelly, the photographer behind Kelly Jacobi Photography, and as of August 2026, I officially get to call Duluth, Minnesota home.
And if I’m being completely honest, it still feels a little surreal to say that.
For more than half of my life, I’ve called Wisconsin home and built a photography business that has taken me far beyond my own backyard. I’ve photographed seniors, families, newborns, maternity sessions, engagements, and boudoir clients throughout Wisconsin and far beyond.
Now I’m starting a new chapter in Minnesota, and I am incredibly excited about it.
So, who am I?
I’m a photographer, wife, mom to three boys, grandma, proud aunty, nature lover, road-trip enthusiast, and someone who would almost always choose a quiet trail, a beautiful view, and a camera over just about anything else.
I love the kind of photographs that make you feel something. I live for the little details and the in between moments that make life so fun and beautiful.
The belly laughs.
The quiet moments.
The way someone looks at the person they love.
The things you don't notice until years later when life has changed and your missing the little things.
The photographs where you look at yourself and think, Damn. I really love this version of me.
That last one is especially important to me.
Because I don't believe you need to know how to pose to have beautiful photographs.
You don't need to be naturally comfortable in front of a camera.
You don't need to know what to do with your hands.
And you definitely don't need to show up knowing exactly what you want.
That's my job.
I don't do cookie-cutter sessions. I can spot a fake smile from a mile away. Stiff poses? Not here.
One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is creating an experience that feels personal to the person standing in front of my camera. I guide you through your session so you aren't left wondering what to do next, but I also leave plenty of room for the things that happen naturally. Because the best photographs aren't always the ones we planned.
Every person who has reached out and every person who has booked a session with me said they did so because my clients look so relaxed and natural. I pride myself on creating a space where you can forget about my camera, lean in and have fun at your session. Let me take care of posing and guiding you.
And now I get to explore Duluth and bring my passion for creating to you.
If there's one thing I already know about moving to this part of the country, it's that I am going to have a lot to photograph.
Lake Superior.
The North Shore.
Canal Park.
Forests.
Trails.
Cliffs.
Waterfalls.
Sunrises and sunsets.
All the ridiculous beauty that comes with Minnesota changing dramatically with every season.
It’s funny because Wisconsin and Minnesota are so similar and so different at the same time.
I'm still getting to know Duluth, which honestly makes this part even more exciting. I want to find the places that make locals say, You have to go here. I want to discover the quiet spots that aren't necessarily on every “Top 10 Duluth” list. I love finding the unexpected and rarely used locations. I want to photograph this area in every season and figure out what makes each location special. And eventually, I want to be able to help you find the perfect place for your session. I’m also so excited to bring my in-home sessions to the Duluth area. People may start out reluctant, but always rave about how happy they are to have memories captured in their own home in such a beautiful and special way.
So if you're looking for a Duluth photographer…
I'm here.
I'm continuing to offer the types of sessions I've always loved: boudoir, seniors, families, maternity, newborns, engagements and proposals.
And if you're not in Duluth? That's okay, too.
Travel has always been a part of my photography business, and it will continue to be. I'm happy to travel throughout Minnesota and beyond for the right session. I have traveled throughout the state of Wisconsin, to places like Colorado, Indiana, Florida, Oklahoma, Hawaii, and even Saint Kitts.
This move is an exciting continuation of my photography journey.
So, Duluth…
I’m really glad to be here.
I can't wait to see where this next chapter takes me, and who I get to photograph along the way.
