After seven years of trying for a baby, this couple trusted Kelly Jacobi Photography to capture their long-awaited pregnancy through intimate, natural maternity photos.
After photographing this couple’s wedding, I was incredibly honored when they returned to me to document another deeply meaningful chapter of their lives: their long-awaited pregnancy. After seven years of trying for a baby, this pregnancy felt nothing short of a miracle. They wanted photographs that captured more than just the way they looked. They wanted to remember the love, anticipation, and connection they shared with each other, their dog, and their soon-to-be son. When an unexpected change in weather moved in the area I suggested an in home session. In home sessions are a beautiful way to show a side of the love and excitement in a way we can’t in an outdoor session. But I knew she was so excited to capture some of the beautiful snowy landscape. So we embraced the change and created something intimate, warm, and beautifully personal photos in-home, then moved outside for a quick 10 minutes to get the best of both worlds!
In a few sentences could you please describe the reason(s) that you decided to work with me?
You had done our wedding photos and we LOVED them. We knew you’d be the right person to capture this special time for us.
How happy were you with the overall planning process?
We were very happy with the level of guidance we were given. I originally had hoped to be outside for our photos but Mother Nature had another idea. At the last minute we switch to doing inside photos. I was very hesitant about this but Kelly was available to us and was very helpful
What was your biggest worry about a photo session prior to the session?
I was worried about what to wear. Also was concerned if the photos would capture just how important it was to us to document this time in our lives. We had been trying for a baby for 7 years. It was a miracle we were pregnant. I wanted to remember this time and I thought a photoshoot with Kelly would be just the thing.
What did you love most about your session?
Everything! We felt sooo comfortable the entire time. I even had some photos taken in my underwear and didn’t feel weird about it at all! I also loved how much she tired to get our dog involved in the photoshoot. We laughed, we joked, it was a blast. Upon receiving our photos, I was amazed how warm and natural we looked. It was important that the love was shown between me, my husband, dog and our soon to be born son. It was just so intimate and beautiful. I am so happy I can look back on that time for the rest of my life.
What did you love most about your photos and products?
I loved the digitals the best, I keep them all on my photo and frequently look back at them.
What would your advise to others be?
Trust the process. Kelly knows what she’s talking about. Do the thing that’s out of your comfort zone!
